The CW releases the first official live-action “Powerpuff Girls” photo

However, it turns out that you don’t have to worry.

According to reports from Entertainment Weekly, the Powerpuff Girls’ traditional black-belted dresses will only appear in flashbacks to their teens, which were featured in the pilot.

The rest of the series will focus on Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup as adults navigating life after spending their childhoods as superheroes.

According to People, an official description of Blossom’s character reads, “Although she was a snappy, conscientious, Little-Miss-Perfect child who has graduated several higher degrees, Blossom’s repressed childhood superhero trauma has left her feeling anxious and withdrawn.”

However, it seems that there are things looking for Blossom within the series.

“She wants to be a leader again – this time on her own terms.”

“Bubbles’ loving disposition won the hearts of America as a child,” Bubbles describes. “She still shines as an adult, but her charming looks belie an unexpected toughness and humor.”

“She is initially more interested in reclaiming her fame than in saving the world,” it continues. “But she might surprise us and herself.”

“Buttercup was the rebellious villain of The Powerpuff Girls in his heyday,” her character description reads. “More sensitive than her tough looks would suggest, Buttercup has spent her adulthood trying to lose her Powerpuff Girl identity and live an anonymous life.”
