Prince Harry quarantined at his and Meghan Markle’s Frogmore Cottage ahead of Prince Philip’s funeral: report

Prince Harry is on the ground in the UK for the first time in over a year, isolating himself in familiar quarters ahead of his grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral on Saturday.

The Duke of Sussex, 36, arrived in his home country from California on Sunday and, according to People magazine, he is quarantined at the Frogmore Cottage where he lived with his wife Meghan Markle, 39, and their son Archie before the young family moved to Canada and then to Los Angeles.

Markle – who is expecting their second child, a daughter – did not accompany her husband, as a royal spokesman told the publication that the Duchess of Sussex was “advised not to travel” by her doctor.

While Frogmore’s home once belonged to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the property is now occupied by Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their infant son – so Harry is essentially a guest at his former home while staying in the UK.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Philip’s funeral will take place on April 17, and Queen Elizabeth’s late husband is currently resting at Windsor Castle.

A source further told People that Brooksbank will most likely not attend the funeral to ensure attendance is in line with local coronavirus restrictions.

While staying at the Frogmore Cottage, Harry and Markle spent more than $ 3 million of their own money renovating the property. The couple chose to come out of their own pocket for the rehabilitation costs of the property so that they could remain financially independent from the royal family and not have to deposit in the Sovereign Grant fund set aside by the taxpayer.

Despite Eugenie and Brooksbank calling the Frogmore residence home, the property still belongs to Markle and Harry, an insider pointed out in People magazine.

The property is now inhabited by Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank and their infant son.
