Texas, United States
President Joe Biden’s administration announced on Monday that Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico will increase the military presence on their borders to curb the migration flow to the United States.
“The Biden government has made agreements with Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala to place more troops on their own borders to help stop the migration flow,” said Tyler Moran, immigration assistant for the National Policy Council.
“That will not only prevent human traffickers, smugglers and cartels from preying on children on their way here, but also to protect those children,” he told CNN.
That reported the US official Biden will address the situation at the border by treating unaccompanied minors “safely” and addressing the reasons for migration to the United States.
“We tackle the reasons why people come from the region. This is really important. If you focus only on our border, you will not get into why people actually come to our border. The president has a plan and is working with the vice president on it, ”said Moran.
Tyler Moran acknowledged that the Biden administration must invest in the Central American region to curb migration to the United States.
