And on Thursday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 38-year-old singer revealed that she once had to use a trash can as an improvised toilet right before going in front of an audience.

The story emerged during a conversation the songwriter had with country artist Clint Black, who said an opening act of his once admitted to peeing on stage.

Clarkson responded with laughter to the musician’s story, alluding to an embarrassing experience of his own, commenting, “I’ll tell you now, there was one time … it wasn’t a puddle, my friend.”

The first American Idol winner started her story by noting that before a performance she was “some kind of devastation by some food.”

She then explained to her guest in relatively graphic detail how she was forced to use a trash can as an improvised toilet in an effort to get on stage as quickly as possible.

Clarkson recalled, “I picked up this poor trash can and boy, I destroyed it. It was bad. It was bad, Clint … It happens! What should you do? ‘

The 59-year-old guest then jokingly said that he was ‘trying to visualize’ the incident.

The hitmaker also noted that she was not afraid to discuss topics that many others would consider off the table or that would be inappropriate to bring up.

‘I don’t have a filter in the best way. I am open to talk about anything. I don’t think anything is really inappropriate – some things, of course, ”Clarkson noted.

She added, ‘Most of the things I want to talk about that some people aren’t ready for when they talk to me. Like, ‘um TMI!’ ‘

The Since U Been Gone singer is known for her energetic live performances and extensive tour schedule.

She initially hit the road on American Idols Live! Tour 2002 after taking first place during the opening season of the competition show.

Clarkson’s first solo headliner run was entitled The Breakaway Tour and lasted from 2005 to the following year.

The songwriter has since embarked on several other excursions as an artist, most recently being the Meaning of Life Tour, which ran from January to March 2019.
