Tesla Model Y 7-Seater Review from a Female Perspective

First things first: we’ve said it in the past, and we’ll say it again, we definitely need more female auto reviewers, and this is especially true when it comes to those who cover Tesla.

While many women own Tesla vehicles, they seem to be few and far between as most of the popular review channels are male-dominated. We will definitely be sharing more content from female Tesla owner Carter Jones in the future.

Jones brings a new perspective in this review of the 3-row Model Y, which she recently got to test. Plus, her channel is full of useful Tesla-related content, with most of it published in recent months. It mainly has to do with the Model 3 she already owns, and there seems to be a focus on finances and functions.

Jones compares the 2021 Model Y to her 2021 Model 3. The Model Y she’s reviewing has the optional third row, but that aside, it’s really no different from any other 2021 Model Y.

She has never driven a Model Y and is considering leasing another car. In fact, she might be interested in leasing a Model Y, but she should check it out first. Fortunately, she is allowed to take a Model Y home at night. She’s amazed how much bigger Model Y is, although it still feels about the same as Model 3 when you’re behind the wheel.

Jones thinks Model Y is clearly a better Tesla for families and road trips. However, she is a very small lady, and yet, even if the second row is pushed forward, The car barely fit the optional third row seats. Plus, she says if you have to go for the 3-row model, you might not have enough cargo space for your family because of the extra seats. If you can stick with the 2-row model you may be better off.

Ultimately, we feel that Jones’ assessment of Model Y is very similar to ours. If you already have a Model 3 and don’t need a small third row, then it might not make sense to upgrade and spend the extra money on Model Y. However, if you’re a fan of crossovers, you appreciate the roomier interior and higher ride height, you should at least consider the Model Y.

We recommend driving Model 3 and Model Y before making your decision. We also recommend taking a close look at how the 7-seater Model Y compares to the 5-seater.

What do you think? Is Model Y worth the extra money, or should Model 3 be enough for most people? Let us know in the comment section below.
