The group stage of CONMEBOL Libertadores was drawn

Last Friday, the group stage of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup was drawn in the city of Luque, Paraguay.

The Brazilian Palmeiras, champions of the Libertadores 2020, and Argentina’s Defense and Justice, winner of the South American 2020, will meet in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores 2021.

As a general rule, two teams from the same country should not be in the same zone unless one comes from the preparatory phase.

The group stage starts on April 21 and ends on May 26, after which the tournament stops to make way for the Copa América. It will resume in July with the round of 16, the quarter-finals will be August, the semi-finals will be in September, and the final will be held on November 20.
