Yesterday got a Nintendo Switch review for Borderlands 3: Director’s Cut was seen on the PEGI rating board.
What’s a bit weird about this is the fact that the “Director’s Cut” is actually a DLC add-on for Season 2 (which was just released this week on other platforms) and the base game hasn’t even been confirmed for the hybrid system.
So what’s going on? While many think it could be a sign of a more official announcement in the future, GameSpot writer and verified Twitter user Gabe Gurwin has supposedly been in touch with a 2K representative. Apparently Borderlands 3 is “not coming to the Switch” and it is a “bug” on the part of PEGI that 2K has now been removed.
We took a look ourselves, and sure enough – the Nintendo Switch listing has now disappeared from the official PEGI rating:
While the Nintendo rating for this DLC has been removed, there is still (arguably) growing evidence that Borderlands 3 could eventually land on the Switch. Aside from every other item in the series already available on this hardware, there was a rather interesting discovery made by YouTuber Doctre81 in September.
Development studio and gate specialist Fractured Byte posted a job opening for game developers (familiar with Switch) to work on an Unreal Engine project. The genre was a “shooter,” and one of its jobs was to help ship games – like the first two Borderlands games – to the Switch.
As it turns out, Fractured Byte also teamed up with Turn Me Up Games to help Borderlands: The Legendary Collection to switch. Hmm interesting!
Do you think Borderlands 3 will eventually make its way to the Switch? Leave a comment below.
