Angelina Jolie discovered her side as an action heroine with films like Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Wanted of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and the actress returns to this genre with “Those Who Wish My Death”. Warner Bros. released the trailer for the movie, showing Jolie that she is still in top form.
In “Those Who Wish My Death,” the actress plays Hannah Faber, a firefighter tower manager and survival expert who must protect a witness to a murder. The protagonist, who is still suffering the loss of three lives she couldn’t save in a fire, appears in the trailer and watches as she sees a bloodied 12-year-old boy after his father is attacked.
“My father told me that if something happens, someone has to be trusted. Can you be trusted?” Asks the boy, enchanted by Finn Little. The little boy is chased by two assassins played by Nicholas Hoult and Aidan Gillen, and whom the character Jolie will face in a movie that, judging by the preview, promises a lot of action.
These Who Wish My Death is directed by Taylor Sheridan from a script by Sheridan himself with Charles Leavitt and Michael Koryta, author of the book on which the film is based. The cast is completed by Jon Bernthal, Tyler Perry, Jake Weber, Tory Kittles, Lora Martinez-Cunningham and James Jordan, among others. The feature film will hit US cinemas on May 14, 2021. The film’s international premiere is scheduled for May 7, 2021.
In addition to the upcoming release of The Who Wish My Death, Jolie will appear in The Eternals, a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie in which she will play Thena, and Every Note Played, in which she will share shots with Christoph Waltz.
