Athletics come back to take the first win

OAKLAND, California – Mitch Moreland hit an RBI-single in the 10th inning and the Oakland Athletics won their first win of the season by beating the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 on Wednesday-evening.

Oakland was in danger of dropping to 0-7, which it has never had in franchise history. However, he tied the score in the ninth inning against Kenley Jansen.

Matt Chapman scored on a sacrifice fly by Elvis Andrus to make the extra innings necessary. At the beginning of the game, Chapman also contributed a solo homer.

The Athletics decided the game in the tenth inning with one out. Moreland singled off Jimmy Nelson (0-1) and pushed Mark Canha from third base.

Canha started the inning second as an automatic runner and moved to third base on a flyout.

Venezuelan Yusmeiro Petit (1-0) processed the tenth chapter, without tolerating annotation, to credit the victory.

For the Dodgers, Puerto Rican Edwin Ríos 1-0.

For the Athletics, Ramón Laureano 4-0 with a run scored. Venezuelan Andrus 3-0 with an RBI.
