“Guillito” returns to his work in the Mayagüez mayor this Monday

Mayagüez’s mayor, José Guillermo “Guillito” Rodríguez, reported this Sunday that he will return to work tomorrow, Monday, after a week’s absence from the mayor’s office.

Last week, Rodríguez appointed engineer Jorge Ramos as acting mayor of the municipality without providing further details.

As he said in a statement, his priority this week will be for the Office of Press and Communications to coordinate a meeting with the press on “the issue debated last week”.

Various sectors, such as the Youth Organization of the New Progressive Party, have demanded the resignation of Rodríguez in recent weeks, following the arrest by federal authorities of people accused of committing electronic fraud and money laundering against the city council in an investment of $ 9 million.
