DMX was taken off livelihood Saturday afternoon and is breathing on its own in a Westchester hospital after suffering a heart attack, his attorney told Page Six.
The 50-year-old rapper “X Gon Give It to Ya” was taken to White Plains Hospital from his nearby home on Friday around 11 p.m. and initially placed on a ventilator, attorney Murray Richman said.
“He was taken off livelihood around 3:00 pm,” Richman said. He’s breathing alone right now. Many people gather in the hospital. “
DMX’s first wife and at least some of his 15 children are in the hospital with him, the lawyer said.
The lawyer was unable to confirm a TMZ report that the rapper, born Earl Simmons, had the heart attack after an apparent overdose.
“I refuse to vouch for that because I have no personal knowledge,” said the lawyer.
