Gilberto Valenzuela Macén’s family announced the death of the man born in Sahuaripa Sonora through his Facebook account.
It was reported that it ceased to exist on Friday, April 2 at 9:25 PM after health problems.
He was born in Sahuaripa, Sonora, Mexico in 1935. Son of Alfonso Valenzuela and Adela Macen Amavizca.
In 1952 he married Aurora Salazar Bretado, daughter of the local deputy for Navojoa in 1935, Miguel Ángel Salazar Ayala.
In 1976 he won the OTI festival with the song “De que te quiero te quiero”. He beats Napoleón, Sergio Esquivel, María Medina and Felipe Gil; Gilberto succeeded, however, and his fame rose.
