Edwin Encarnacion is 38 years old, has a good career in the Major League with 424 home runs and 1,832 hits, and is currently in free agency.
But the news around him is that the man, a resident of La Romana, has not received a bid from any of the 30 Major League clubs.
In 2020 he played for the Chicago White Sox with a $ 12 million contract (or 37% share thanks to Covid 19).
Edwin played in 44 of the 60 scheduled games, hitting 10 homers, 19 RBI’s and a .157 batting average.
Now that he has no MLB offers, he still isn’t thinking about retirement.
“No, I didn’t think about that,” said Encarnación in an interview with Héctor J. Cruz in Listín Diario’s Sports News and the entire digital platform.
Encarnacion also talks about his foray into business.
On Tuesday, President Luis Abinader took the first pike to inaugurate work at a hotel linked to the Hilton chain, in La Romana, a project in which Encarnación is the main investor.
