Results of a management that translates into well-being and social impact

In the middle of last year’s panorama, Compensar carried out more than 50 million operations, between Caja and Salud, a figure very close to that of 2019, when it reached 62.5 million.

Last year the world faced one of the greatest challenges in recent human history, on March 6, the first case of Coronavirus was confirmed in Colombia and since then the pandemic has claimed the lives of 62,000 Colombians and has affected labor, political, economic and health systems, highlighting one of the main problems that have plagued the entire world for decades and that is exacerbated in countries like ours: social inequality, with its dire consequences for people’s rights.

In this context, 2020 will go down in history as a year full of changes, challenges and enormous challenges, which have tested fundamental values ​​such as solidarity, responsibility and resilience, as well as a year of great learning and deep reflection, including that well-being and social advancements are only viable if they are collective.

And so, within this panorama, Compensar, one of the youngest family compensation funds in the system, continues to work hand in hand with its nearly 97,000 affiliated employers to contribute to the consolidation of a society with better opportunities. Ordinary General Meeting of Affiliates, held on March 18, for the second consecutive year in virtual form, where Carlos Mauricio Vásquez, the CEO, shared the main results of the management of 2020, in which the entity carried out more than 50 million activities, between Caja and Salud, a figure very close to that of 2019, without a pandemic, when it developed 62.5 million.

Actions to lighten users’ wallets

More than 1,257,000 people were provided with $ 818,400 million through various types of grants, including more than 49,500 benefiting from the emergency grant, with $ 107,000 million.

It provided financial support for more than $ 358,000 million to 57,000 employees of 2,700 companies, and developed an end-to-end virtual credit process that contributed to the provision of nearly 200,000 loans during the year for more than $ 173,000 million, 84% to affiliates of category A and B.

It benefited more than 3,500 students from the university foundation with scholarships, grants and discounts of more than $ 4,600 million, ensuring continuity of their studies.

Refocusing resources to guide companies in the sectors most affected by the pandemic, identifying the key needs of their employees to support them with different benefits, impacting approximately 3,300 companies of different sizes and approximately 546,00 affiliated employees in categories A and B.

It expanded its network of allies, including virtual offerings, benefiting more than 830,000 people, 93% of whom were connected in categories A and B, with savings of more than $ 93,000 million in various settings, mainly in the purchase of food, cleaning supplies, medicines and technology.

In accordance with the needs of those who need it most

Extended childcare and additional school days programs were underway, being developed in an agreement with the District Education Secretariat, implementing new pedagogical methodologies that have benefited nearly 31,000 boys and girls. Along the same lines, it has adapted the school feeding program it is also developing with the Secretariat, delivering 5,680,000 meal vouchers and 152,000 food parcels to prepare at home.

Helped find work for nearly 30,000 people through the agency and virtually trained more than 100,000. In addition, he designed a free virtual showcase to make it easier for entrepreneurs to market their products and services.

It has affected approximately 342,000 older adults through various money and health services, one of the populations most at risk and affected during the pandemic.

Supporting approximately 6,000 people, mainly belonging to rural areas in the northwestern part of Cundinamarca, through innovative initiatives such as Cyber ​​Volunteering, Solidarity Recharges, Solidarity Bingo, Rural Employment and Inclusive Shopping.

Crossing the barriers of presence

Accelerated innovation and digitization projects, rapid progress in automating procedures, enabling new channels, developing applications, platforms, virtual assistants and migrating many of its services to external media.

Since the start of the pandemic, it has enabled free online spaces to accompany millions of families at home with educational, sporting, cultural and health activities and content, reaching more than 3 million people every month.

Registered more than 2,600,000 applications in recreation, education, sports and culture, 37% in virtual activities, promoting the physical, mental and emotional well-being of 1,340,000 people.

Through its virtual event production platform, it connected more than 481,000 people across 1,031 events, leveraging the companies’ strategic objectives.

Provided 1,874 housing solutions, designed 100% virtual experiences to guide families throughout the process, and also impacted 24,000 people with the Community Social Development program.

Some health results

In health, one of the fronts facing the greatest challenges in 2020, it visited more than 1,200,000 patients and performed nearly 40 million activities, including Covid and non-Covid: 2,284,000 teleorientation appointments and more than 3,126,000 face-to-face, 1,466,000 promotion and prevention activities, 2,000,000 home delivery of medicines to 153,000 priority people, 490,000 Covid processed samples, and 693,000 sample-taking kits produced. In addition, it has adapted its infrastructure to the needs of the pandemic and an example of this is the transformation, in just 12 days, from the Calle 26 headquarters to an IPS hospital, the provisional hospital on Calle 134, the installation of a Covid monster camp in the Plaza del Jubileo, 3 new modular laboratories and the remote orientation model at the Av.68 headquarters, among others.
