Francisco Lindor adds another homer

On a mission

Francisco Lindor threw his fourth homer in his past five games to lead the 5-3 exhibition win for the Mets. The shortstop also doubled down as part of his 3-for-4 appearance, holding a 1,074 OPS in the Grapefruit League. Lindor and the Mets continue to discuss a possible contract extension.

Stroman fight

Marcus Stroman gave up three runs on nine hits in five innings. The Marlins scored all of its runs against the righthanded man in the fourth and fifth innings while building his pitch to 76.

Caught my eye

Mike Piazza, at camp this week as a special instructor, worked with Kevin Pillar on swing mechanics before the match. Pillar was 2-for-4 against the Marlins, raising his Grapefruit League average to .324.

Wednesday schedule

Taijuan Walker is the scheduled starting pitcher against the Cardinals in Jupiter. Others scheduled for the Mets include Dellin Betances, Miguel Castro and Jeurys Familia.
