Texans, NFL star Deshaun Watson charged with sexual assault

Texas star quarterback Deshaun Watson has denied allegations of sexual assault as set out in a lawsuit filed Tuesday.

Tony Buzbee, the Houston attorney representing the alleged victim, told Fox 26 in Texas that Watson received a massage from the unknown woman when the 25-year-old “went too far.”

Details about the suit were scarce.

Watson refuted the claim on Twitter after Buzbee posted a message on social media about the lawsuit.

“As a result of a social media post by a publicity-seeking plaintiff’s attorney, I recently became aware of a lawsuit that has apparently been filed against me,” Watson wrote. “I haven’t seen the complaint yet, but I know this: I’ve never treated a woman with anything but the utmost respect. The plaintiff’s attorney claims it’s not about money, but before filing a lawsuit, he made an unfounded claim for a six-figure settlement, which I quickly dismissed. “

Watson added that he looks forward to clearing his name.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Buzbee said he was “extremely proud to represent those who have no perceived power against those who PRESCRIBED power.”

“This case we just filed against Watson isn’t about money – it’s about dignity and quitting behavior that must be stopped NOW!” Buzbee said.

Watson, a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback, was the center of off-season trade talks after requesting to be moved. The former Clemson star reportedly became unhappy with the team’s process of hiring Nick Caserio as general manager in January.
