The Woodlands, a Houston suburb, has been named the No. 1 city in the US to live

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) – The Woodlands, the 28,000-acre, master-planned community north of Houston, has risen on Niche’s list of the best cities in America in recent years. Now, for the first time ever, it’s in the first place.

Niche, an online platform that helps people choose schools and places to live, announced on March 15 that The Woodlands is # 1 on the 2021 list of the best cities to live in America in 2021. The Woodlands took second place last year and fourth in 2019.

Niche generates the rankings by searching data from the US Census Bureau, the FBI, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and searches millions of resident ratings. Among the ranking factors Niche considers are affordability, housing market, neighborhood diversity, public schools, and walkability.
