The Angels – The Grammys, the most important music awards on a global scale, are today celebrating their 63rd edition with a very strange gala and without all the artists being united in the same room by the pandemic.
At 5:00 pm from Los Angeles, the city where the Grammys are traditionally held, the US Recording Academy will start its grand ceremony, this year with Trevor Noah as the presenter.
Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Cardi B, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles and Billie Eilish are some of the artists who will be performing at the gala.
In addition to these stars, sisters HAIM, Black Pumas, BTS, Brandi Carlile, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Mickey Guyton, Brittany Howard, Miranda Lambert, Lil Baby, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Megan Thee Stallion, Marren Morris, Post will also appear. Malone and Roddy Ricch.
It is not clear what these musical performances will be like, as many of the guests will not be attending the Staples Center in Los Angeles, USA, which has been the usual venue for the major music festival for years.
In this edition, the Academy pays tribute to music venues and small concert halls, which have been badly affected by the pandemic.
Waiters, promoters and other employees will be responsible for handing out the prizes.
The organizers’ idea is a small televised event without an audience with live connections both outside and inside Los Angeles.
Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, arguably the world’s two biggest pop stars, will duel as prize favorites.
Beyoncé will run with nine nominations versus Taylor Swift’s six, the same nominations as Dua Lipa and Roddy Rich.
Bad Bunny, with two nominations, Ricky Martin and Camilo are some of the candidates for Spanish performers in the Grammy’s Latin categories.
