A new Nintendo Switch prototype has leaked online, giving Nintendo fans an early look at the console. On Twitter, Nintendo enthusiast Forest of Illusion recently revealed that they obtained an early Nintendo Switch system from a retailer in Hong Kong dating back to April 2016, almost a year before the Nintendo Switch was released and not long before it actually went into use. was taken. production. And as Forest of Illusion points out, this is the earliest Nintendo Switch model found to date.
As you can see from the images below, there is not much difference between the final product and this prototype, although it does have different volume knobs and different screws.
“We have developed a Nintendo Switch system (EDEV) from a retailer in Hong Kong,” reads the Twitter post revealing the discovery. The unit dates back to around April 2016, making it the earliest Switch to date, almost a full year older than the retail release. The data (factory test files) cannot be released as it is too recent, but all files are safely backed up and the system has been sent to someone for safekeeping. Other things that matter are the various screws, volume buttons and it is referred to as DPRD. “

At the time of publication, it is unclear how much the prototype will cost and whether games can be played on it. That said, at this point Nintendo hasn’t acknowledged the machine in any capacity, and it probably doesn’t at this point.
