Christopher Knight: Patio seats in the middle of Oprah’s Meghan and Harry interview – made by a ‘Brady Bunch’ actor – sold out online

Christopher Knight, the actor who played the middle brother on the television series ‘The Brady Bunch’, announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday that the wicker and acacia Burchett Outdoor Club Chairs sold by his furniture company is out of stock on sites such as Overstock and Amazon.

The furniture, by Christopher Knight Brands, sold out after it was prominently displayed during Sunday night’s bomb interview.

“In Oprah’s sensational interview with Prince Harry and Meghan this week, who would have thought the furniture would have been noticed at all, but it was … and not even by me!” Knight wrote on Facebook. “I am honored that the patio chairs in my collection have become the seat of the most fascinating famous sit-down in recent memory.

The set, which costs $ 554, was used when the pair revealed shocking allegations about racism at Buckingham Palace and why they were relinquishing senior positions in the British Royal Family. The interview drew a huge audience with approximately 17.1 million viewers on Sunday night in the United States and 11 million in the United Kingdom the following day.

While the brand’s products often appear in movies, reality TV shows, and interview segments, a spokesperson said the company won’t be aware of it until they check it out and see it for themselves.

“Contrary to all previous times, this time the furniture has become more than just the set dressing and has become part of the story,” the spokesperson told CNN Business. “It seems that anything the Royals say, do or touch is of interest. While we are grateful for the exposure – the response on social media has been tremendous – we remain surprised by the incident.”

The set of chairs is part of a collection that was first introduced this season. “While it has already sold well and gained traction, the attention this famous interview has brought the product has accelerated sales beyond what anyone could have expected,” the spokesman said.

On Facebook, Knight clarified that he had not designed the set, citing the “excellent taste and skill of his business partners in providing a line of furniture that is both affordable and royalty-ready – both foreign and domestic.”

Knight took a break from acting in 1988 to pursue a career in the corporate world. He became a serial entrepreneur, started a 3D graphics company and an educational products company, and later launched his furniture brand in 2012. Six years later, he debuted a lifestyle collection of composite products, including bedding, tabletop and glassware.

In 2019, Knight returned to the small screen for a four-part HGTV series called “A Very Brady Renovation,” featuring all six original cast members from Brady, the Property Brothers and other personalities.

This is not the first time in recent months that a surprising product has been the center of attention during a well-watched broadcast. The Vermont teacher behind the snuggly mittens worn by US Sen. Bernie Sanders was inaugurated during President Joe Biden’s inauguration with requests from people looking to buy a pair. Although she originally said they are no longer for sale, Jen Ellis later auctioned off three pairs for charity.
