Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis temporarily loses custody of two children she shares with ex Thomas Ravenel

A year after opening up about their ‘great’ co-parenting arrangement, Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis has temporarily lost custody of the two children she shares with ex Thomas Ravenel.

Ravenel’s lawyer confirmed to People that the former reality star had temporarily regained custody of their children Kensie, six, and Saint, four, and that Dennis, 29, will now have weekend visits with them during the day.

Ravenel, 58, will move to Aiken, South Carolina with them, but the reason behind the change to their custody arrangement remains a mystery due to the sealed court documents.

Ravenel filed a request for his ex to remain under surveillance on Oct. 23, 2020, and the pre-trial detention order was fulfilled on Feb. 25, 2021, Page Six said.

In a statement to People, Ravenel’s attorney confirmed the new custody deal but declined to disclose the circumstances that led to the change.

“I can confirm the information released last week that Ms. Dennis is currently on a weekend visit with the underage children of the parties and that Mr. Ravenel plans to move with the children to Aiken, South Carolina this summer,” Ravenel’s attorney said.

“ Due to the sensitive nature of the issues involved, all documents in this case are sealed, meaning the public cannot access them, and neither Mr. Ravenel, Ms. Dennis, nor their respective attorneys are allowed to release them to any third party, ” the statement.

“As such, and in keeping with the spirit of the protection order, I will not go into detail about the circumstances that necessitated the changes to the custodial sentence of the parties.”

Dennis and Ravenel previously shared joint custody of their children, and the arrangement worked well for the exes, according to the Southern Charm star.

‘We actually have a great co-parenting relationship,’ she told Us Weekly in November 2019.

‘It’s good for him, it’s good for me. We’re moving forward, and that’s the first time I’ve said that in a long time, and it feels good. ‘

The positive words contrast sharply with their otherwise ugly custody battle, with Ravenel accusing Dennis of being addicted to prescription drugs and marijuana, among other allegations. Dennis has denied the charges.

Ravenel and Dennis started dating in 2013 before breaking up for good in 2016.

Today they have both moved on romantically.

Ravenel has since welcomed another child, a baby boy named Jonathan Jackson, with Heather Mascoe. The couple then became engaged.

Meanwhile, Dennis has started a relationship with Chleb Ravenell.
