The famous country music couple of Americans Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are selling the island of Los Angeles, Angels’s Island in its original name in English, for $ 35 million, including an impressive mansion built years ago in a remote corner of the Bahamas.
The information will be released this Monday in its online edition by luxury magazine Robb Report, which recalls that when the famous musical couple formed by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw decided in 2003 to find a slice of paradise on earth to relax in, they found it in the heart of the Exuma island chain, in the Atlantic archipelago of the Bahamas.
This small island was then an uninhabited and undeveloped 20-hectare piece of rock that years later was transformed into a unique place with a spectacular mansion.
THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD
The ‘best place in the world’, the couple described the place at Architectural Digest in 2017, although things have changed and today the island and mansion are on Knight Frank’s real estate list with properties for sale for $ 35 million. .
Real estate experts recall that while there are several islands for sale in the Bahamas, it is rare for a product with these characteristics, a true five-star resort, to be ready to live.
The 1,800-square-foot main building sits high in the center of the island, a stone’s throw from the sandy beaches on either side.
From an architectural point of view, it consists of eight separate pavilions, each connected by a series of tiled walkways.
DESIGNED BY BOBBY MCALPINE AND GREG TANKERSLEY
Designed by Tennessee-based architects Bobby McAlpine and Greg Tankersley, they worked on a project that dominated both the interior and exterior.
In the 2017 Architectural Digest interview, Hill told the magazine they wanted to feel connected to the outside world.
That means stained-glass windows that can be opened side by side in each of the four bedrooms and a massive glass-paneled roll-up door in the living room.
The master suite opens out on two sides and has high beamed ceilings, plus a huge private deck with its own outdoor bath.
Despite the features of the structure, its robustness is testament to all elements, as shown by having withstood a number of hurricanes.
The island has its own dock that can accommodate a few pleasure boats and jet skis.
Since it must be completely self-sufficient, the northern tip of the island is dedicated to generators and water desalination plants.
Maintenance is handled by staff living on the island full-time in three cabins, while fuel and supplies arrive by sea.
Whoever buys this house has taken as a neighbor the magician David Copperfield, owner of Musha Key, a short speedboat ride away.
The island now for sale can be reached by a 90-minute flight from Miami to Exuma Airport or by a 60-minute seaplane from Nassau, the capital of the Atlantic archipelago of the Bahamas.
Real estate experts remember that many people dream of an island, but no one wants to spend the next 10 years developing it, so this is an opportunity. EFE
