Gillian Anderson addresses Alec Baldwin while shading her British-American accent: ‘I’m sad it caused him so much grief’
On Sunday, The Crown star Gillian Anderson addressed Alec Baldwin shadow her ‘changing’ British-American accent, which caused him to delete his Twitter account last Wednesday.
“So it’s not a newsworthy item,” the bi-dialectal 52-year-old told ET. “But I’m sad it caused him so much grief.”
Gillian was born in Chicago, but has lived in London since 2002, after growing up there from 2-11 years.

‘I haven’t paid any attention to it because it’s just something that I’m living. I grew up between two countries and so depending on who is in my ear is which direction my accent is going. So I’m so used to it that it’s kind of old news to me. ‘
The short-tempered 62-year-old had tried to lighten up his second wife Hillary ‘Hilaria’ Thomas’ Spanish scandal.

Gillian faces stiff competition against her own Crown castmates Olivia Colman and Emma Corrin, as well as Ozark duo Julia Garner and Laura Linney.
“To get there for that room, whether that room is the Golden Globe room or the SAG room or whatever it is, is incredibly intimidating,” Anderson explained.
‘It’s intense! So, you know, to be able to sit in a hotel room and sit on a couch and be alone and not see the hundreds of people, or maybe thousands of people who might be watching, is quite a cool performance. ‘
The entire cast of Crown will also compete for an ensemble’s coveted outstanding performance in a drama series trophy, which is SAG’s equivalent of Best Picture.


Aired on April 4 on TNT / TBS! The Sex Education star will then compete for the outstanding performance of a female actor in a drama series trophy at the 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards.
