TEGUCIGALPA, HONDURAS.- The singers Camilo Echeverri Y Evaluna Montaner they recently premiered their song Macchu Picchu, and while it had already amassed millions of reproductions on major platforms within hours, many people’s response was not what they expected.
The song’s title refers to the citadel in Peru, but the Peruvians regretted that the lyrics do not describe at all what the wonder of the world has to offer.
“I have more ruins then Macchu Picchu“I’ve destroyed a thousand planets with things I’ve said. And how did you notice something that was anything but a work of art?” Says the only verse of the song that mentions the name of the ancient Inca world.

Social networks have been inundated with messages like, “Why do you call it Machu Picchu if you only mention it once?”, “Camilo only uses my beloved heritage to refer to ruins if it has a highly symbolic historical context for Peruvians”, ” The best part of it Macchu Picchu from Camilo is when you stop it “, among others.
However, the Colombian singer performed and defended the name of the song he recorded in collaboration with his wife: “Macchu Picchu it is only mentioned in part of the song, but it is an invitation to the aesthetics of the whole song. Machu Picchu is one of the wonders of the world and they are beautiful ruins … (it means that) she saw something in me that I had not seen. I thought they were simple ruins, but she saw in me something like what we see in the ruins of Machu Picchu, ”he explained.
