Tragic Saved By The Bell star Dustin Diamond was ‘never legally married’ to ex Jennifer Misner, according to a newly obtained death certificate.
The actor, best known for his role as Screech in the high school teen comedy, died at home in Florida on February 1 at the age of 44 after a brief battle with lung cancer.
But a death certificate obtained by TMZ states that Diamond “ never married ” – despite many fans believing he exchanged vows with Misner in 2009 before divorcing in 2013.

The actor had also worn a wedding ring before his death, but close friend Dan Block, president of Insurance Kings, has maintained that the ring was just one way to show his commitment to Misner during their relationship.
Block also told the publication that Diamond was becoming increasingly frustrated with Wikipedia for falsely claiming to be married to Misner.
The actor died just three weeks after being diagnosed with stage four small cell lung cancer.

In 2012, Diamond had referred to Misner as his wife when talking about marriage during an interview with CityTV in October 2012.
He held up his wedding finger and said, ‘Happy wife, happy life my friend! That’s the way to do it! ‘
The former couple, who met in Pennsylvania, had previously been heartbroken after Misner miscarried in 2004.
Diamond’s last girlfriend, known as Tash, 39, told DailyMail.com exclusively, ‘He was the love of my life. We planned a future together and often talked about having children. My heart is broken.’

She also shared exclusive photos with DailyMail.com of his mini-Yorkie named Fin visiting him in the hospital and of the couple holding hands.
Tash, a certified pharmacy technician, said she is devastated and her whole world is turned upside down. But she said she will cherish the last time he could talk to her – just a day before he died.
“Even though he had trouble breathing and speaking, he was able to say the words to me, ‘I love you,’ I told him I loved him too.”
Tash said, “Dustin died at our friend Jules’ house in Fort Meyers, Florida.”

He had been hospitalized since January and had just been released around noon on Monday and was taken to their friend’s home by medical staff for hospice care.
Diamond was still on the gurney in the front room of the house while the hospice worker and their friend Jules were preparing his bedroom, when Tash noticed he wasn’t breathing.
He was pronounced dead by emergency workers shortly afterwards.
