Although we will not know details about the new 2022 Jeep Wagoneer until its official launch on March 11, 2021, Autoweek reported that we can expect one thing: Amazon Fire TV screens integrated into the Uconnect infotainment system.

Fire TV is Amazon’s answer to streaming services, but it also lets you play video games, listen to music, and use other apps. And Jeep will be the first manufacturer to implement that software in an automotive environment. Autoweek reports that it has the same interface as your Fire TV in your home, and you can use your account without any hassle. Basically, you can watch a show at home, then get in the car and keep looking where you left off.

Jeep wants you to know that this will not be available to distract drivers as the technology is not available while the vehicle is in motion. Only passengers can use Fire TV in that case. But the driver can access it while in the park. Always a bonus if you spend a lot of time in parking lots these days while waiting for an appointment.

You can also download content. So if you’re heading for a road trip through the middle or absolutely nowhere, you can still finish your show without having to stream it from the internet. Given the prevalence of “screens” in response to my earlier question about keeping kids happy on the go, this becomes a boon for families who regularly see themselves on the road.

This is all fine and dandy, but it does raise a big question: where are these screens going look Like it? It is a thing to provide a nice piece of technology to keep parents around the world healthy. It’s another thing to do on a screen that sticks out like a sore thumb from the rest of the interior. But we won’t know until the 11th.
