PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – Philadelphia police are investigating a possible murder after a man was found dead in a fire in the city’s Somerton neighborhood.
The fire occurred just after 7pm on Friday at block 11000 of Greiner Road.
Officials say smoke could be seen from a twin house upon arrival.
A neighbor inside the house smelled smoke and was able to open the front door where he found the homeowner, authorities said.
Officials say a 62-year-old man was discovered on the floor in a pool of blood because two separate fires are said to have started on the 2nd floor and in the basement.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
The fire chief is currently investigating this incident.
