NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A series of TikTok videos that began when a woman made a strange discovery in her New York City apartment has captivated millions.
As a scary movie, its story began with a mysterious breeze, CBS2’s Steve Overmyer reported Thursday.

“So I walk into my bathroom and … I feel cold air blowing over me,” said the woman named Samantha in a video. “You can see my hair blowing in the cold wind.”
Tension grew when she found the source.
“And the sky comes out of the mirror … I’ll show you what I found,” said Samantha.
More than 10 million people have watched her journey and reminded her that a hole in a room behind a mirror is the plot of the 1992 movie “Candyman”.
“There’s a room there … I have to go in … What if someone lives there?” Samantha said as the videos continued.
Samantha had seen enough scary movies to know not to investigate the unknown unprepared. She wore a flashlight on her forehead like a miner’s hat.
The plot thickened as she squeezed through the hole.
“Oh my God,” she said.

The latest video revealed that there wasn’t just a room behind the mirror. There was a whole apartment.
Garbage bags and even a water bottle in them suggested she might not be alone.
“Okay, so there are signs of life,” said Samantha.
After exiting the front door, Samantha rejoiced that she had survived the experience.
“Saved alive!” she said.
Then it sank in. The apartment next door is connected through a hole in the wall.
Samantha plans to mount the mirror on the wall until the hole is repaired.
“My landlord will get a really nice call tomorrow,” she said.
