Days after AppleTV’s The World’s a Little Blurry aired late last month, he responded to criticism of how he treated Eilish and their five and a half year age difference.
‘There are always two sides to a situation,’ he wrote on his Instagram story about his detached and sometimes dismissive behavior.
‘People don’t realize that I had to deal with my brother’s death. Especially around the time it was fresh. ‘
He continued, “Sometimes you have to be alone to cope,” he continued.
‘Sometimes people disagree and don’t want the same things as someone else. It is up to you to understand that there are different points of view in a situation.
Anyone who knows me knows where my heart is. I stay with a smile on my face even when I’m in pain. We penetrate the pain. [No love is ever lost.] But I refuse to be beaten. ‘

Last week, fans of the star got an unvarnished look into her personal life and the creative process behind her hit debut studio album in the new Apple TV + documentary, which came out Friday.
The doc follows her from the last part of the recording for – When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? – to the 2020 Grammys, where she took home five trophies from six nominations at the age of 18.
The teen, who has kept her dating life largely private, talks about her relationship with 7: AMP, whom she affectionately calls ‘Q’.

In the beginning of the doc, she can hear Q say she loves him over the phone, but as the end approaches, Eilish breaks up with him.
As more is revealed, Eilish can be seen having a hard time getting a hold of Q while on tour, and again when she returns home to Los Angeles, where he also lives.
She would cut it off during a conversation with him before taking the stage for a performance at Pier 17 in New York City.
‘I just wasn’t happy. I didn’t want the same things he wanted and I don’t think that’s fair to him, ”said the Everything I Wanted singer.
“ I don’t think you should be in a relationship that’s super excited about things that the other person doesn’t care about. ”

In an effort to be honest with herself, Eilish explained that she didn’t think the state of their romance was ‘fair’ to any of them.
‘There was just a lack of effort. I was like, dude, you ain’t got enough love to love yourself so you can’t love me dude. And not you. [laughs] You think so. ‘
With some time to reflect on the relationship’s demise, she admitted she still loves Q.
‘I am not over him, I have not found anyone else. I just kept loving him, ”she explained.
‘I’ve just been away from him for a while and I was like,’ Wow, I miss so much because I worry about you all the time and I don’t want what you want and you don’t want what I want. ‘I don’t want to fix it. I can’t fix it. I’ve tried.’

There is a scene in the document where Eilish forgets the lyrics to one of her songs during a show at Coachella and calls Q, seemingly for some support. Before she hangs up, she throws the phone on the floor in frustration People.
Q would break his hand after hitting a wall, and Eilish tells a friend, “I’m trying to get him to go into therapy. He’s so self-destructive. ‘
In another scene, she revealed that Q hadn’t given her anything for Valentine’s Day, when asked how they celebrated the lover’s holiday.
Eilish quickly rose to fame after her breakout song, Ocean Eyes, in 2015, when she was only 13 years old.
