Since January, when we found out that Japanese magazine Famitsu had rated Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny 33/40, we have no more news about the upcoming turn-based tactical RPG. Thanks to the New Game Plus Expo, an online showcase that took place earlier today, we now finally have a release date: June 29, 2021.
In the trailer above, Nippon Ichi Software President Sohei Niikawa (dressed as Prinny) talks about the game’s success in both Japan and the West – and that he takes fans’ opinions into account. Disgaea 7 already.
For the biggest fans of Disgaea, there is even a special “Unrelenting Edition” release of the game, which comes with the digital soundtrack, artbook and a physical copy of the game on Switch. The slightly more upscale “Limited Edition” edition comes with a larger art book, physical soundtrack, pin set, fabric poster, steel bookcase and collector’s box, as well as the game.
The Unrelenting Edition is $ 59.99 plus shipping, and the Limited Edition is $ 99.99 plus shipping. Both can be pre-ordered from the links on the Disgaea website. The digital game can be found (and added to your wish list) in Nintendo eShop.
