Video shows the collapse of a balcony railing that killed 7 Bolivian students

Seven students died and four were injured in a tragic incident in Bolivia when a railing collapsed, causing them to fall from a fourth-floor balcony.

A wild video of Tuesday’s incident showed a crowd of students from El Alto Public University being busted on the balcony before the railing broke.

The tragedy took place in the university’s financial sciences building, when students tried to enter a lecture hall for a meeting.

The footage, obtained by The Sun, also showed a young woman pushing another near the railing just before it collapsed.

Bolivian police chief general Jhonny Aguilera Montecinos said on Wednesday that the woman seen in the fight will be questioned as part of the investigation, local outlets reported.

Montecinos also attributed the cause of death for the victims as due to “multiple trauma”.

“We regret the tragedy that took place at the #ElAlto public university (UPEA), where several people were killed and injured,” said Bolivian President Luis Arce wrote on Twitter

“Our deepest condolences to the people of El Alto and to the suffering families. We await the rapid clarification of the facts. “
