Vince McMahon grabbed Lashley first behind the scenes and hugged him tightly. The WWE boss told Lashley he was proud of the superstar, and it was a backstage moment that the 44-year-old veteran will certainly never forget.
This is what Bobby Lashley revealed:
‘When I could go through that curtain [after winning the WWE Championship] and gave Vince a hug, he grabbed me, and he held me for a while and said, “Man, I’m proud of you.”
Vince doesn’t want you to have fun here: Bobby Lashley on WWE CEO expectations
Bobby Lashley would go on to explain what Vince McMahon expects from WWE talent. The WWE Champion said Vince McMahon wants the Superstars to push their creative boundaries and perform at the next level.
‘You’re not here to have fun. Vince doesn’t want you to have fun here. Vince wants to argue with you because you’re fighting for something you want. Vince wants you to get out of the box and do something bigger. “
Bobby Lashley spoke about the drive Vince McMahon wants his talent to have. The boss’s vision and input from several other legends have driven Lashley to accomplish more extraordinary things in the company.
“Vince wants you to want WrestleMania so badly that the public is forcing them to give you that title. I think I started getting to that point last year, for at least a few months. I’ve been mean, man. I’m mean “I’ve been out there with a vengeance, and a lot of confidence flows through me.”
