Destiny 2 Glitch allows you to start raid parties for 12 players

Destiny 2 fireteams are usually limited to six, but players have recently discovered a glitch to increase the size and are using the exploit to tackle game raids in huge groups.

Twelve-player parties might be a big change for a traditional MMO, but in Destiny it can transform even the deepest, darkest stone crypt into a vibrant space party. Like Forbes reports, the glitch has been known to some Twitch streamers and other players for several weeks, but it’s only just started to break through to the wider community as how-to videos about the trick have been circulating on YouTube.

Here’s an example from YouTuber Scrub, which the discovery attributes to Twitter user ChildCelebrity

Players achieve these gatherings by creating two separate raid teams and then combining them at the very last second before starting the activity. If timed correctly, both groups will land together, allowing them to go through encounters designed for much smaller groups with relative ease and have fun in the process.

Destiny 2 has become much more prone to bugs over the past year, leading to issues in high-stakes competitive activities like Trials of Osiris, as well as occasional issues with solo missions for mission progression. This raid party glitch, on the other hand, is one of the cooler things that accidentally happened in the game since launch. Like Rock, paper, shotgunAlice O’Connor remarks, it can be both very chaotic and incredibly charming to watch 11 other players run around solving raid puzzles.

Unlike many other glitches, this one doesn’t seem to really hurt anyone. Of course, that doesn’t mean Bungie might not be able to patch it anytime soon, especially as more and more players are trying to replicate it. The studio’s community manager tweeted ominously about it last Friday, so if you’re itching to host a raid party yourself, it’s best to try it sooner or later.
