PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Giant Eagle and the Pittsburgh Steelers team up to host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at Heinz Field.
Beginning Friday, Giant Eagle says most appointments will be made available through its online scheduling tool. Shortly after 11:30 a.m. Friday morning, Giant Eagle said all appointments available online had been booked.

For people who do not have Internet access, a limited number of appointments can be booked from 12:00 PM Monday by calling 1-877-288-2070. But Giant Eagle says this is not encouraged because high call volume and limited availability can cause long wait times.

The Allegheny County Health Department also issues the Pfizer vaccine and has a link to enroll in a clinic in Castle Shannon. Online registration will begin at 9:00 am through Allegheny Alerts and will be posted on ACHD’s vaccine page shortly thereafter.
Patients can also call 2-1-1 for a first dose. All appointments are scheduled for the Castle Shannon VFD Banquet Hall on Library Road. The county says any person who arrives at the site without an appointment, or who is not 65 or older, will be rejected.
Second doses of the Moderna vaccine are also being planned. They will be at the province’s Monroeville clinic.
