Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:

  • Monte Carlo, Kinetic Automatic Rifle: 29 Legendary Shards
  • Fr0st-EE5, Hunter Legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Antaeus Wards, Titan Legs: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Vesper of Radius, Warlock Chest: 23 Legendary Shards
  • Exotic Engram: 97 Legendary Shards (you can now buy a second one with an Exotic Cipher)
  • Exotic Cipher Quest: Free

Xur’s items fall to the same power level as your character.

Montecarlo

Montecarlo is an older Exotic auto rifle from the original Destiny, brought back to life in Destiny 2: ShadowkeepThe main exotic benefit is Monte Carlo method, which reduces the cooldown of your melee ability when dealing damage with Monte Carlo, and offers a chance to reset a melee ability on a Monte Carlo kill. Monte Carlo’s secondary advantage is the Markov necklace, which increases gun damage after primary fire or melee kills. Markov Chain also provides ammunition for a melee kill.

Monte Carlo was a popular automatic rifle in the original Destiny, and it’s even better at it Destiny 2The gun offers serious utility for melee-focused builds, and it feels great for shooting. Like most Exotic primaries, this is not the kind of weapon you want to take to another assault. But for dragging around the universe, smashing space robots and smashing space rhinos, it’s the perfect companion.

Fr0st-EE5

Fr0st-EE5 is a recurring Exotic van Destiny The intrinsic advantage is Rapid coolingWhile sprinting, your Dodge, Melee and Grenade energy is quickly charged. Swerving also increases your sprint speed.

Fr0st-EE5 has a nice extra that is neatly incorporated into itself. The actual usability of the benefit, however, is a completely different question. Hunters have so many good exotics that even if the regeneration of Fr0st-EE5 was incredible. These boots have taken on a strange love while burping for Nightfall weapons or speed running content. If you are a Hunter protagonist and you don’t have this yet, consider getting them from Xur.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 62 total stats.

Antaeus Wards

Antaeus Wards is an Exotic from the Deserted extension. The main advantage is Reflective ventsWhen you slide, Antaeus Wards will cast a shield in front of you. Any projectiles that hit the shield will bounce back to their owner. Every deflection gives you Super energy. These boots are powerful in the right situation, but recent nerfs are keeping them average at best.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 59 total stats.

Vesper or Radius

The Vesper or Radius is a Warlock chestpiece Curse of OsirisThe exotic benefit, Planetary Torrentcauses a shock wave to explode out of you when you insert your Rift. Your Rift also charges much faster when surrounded by enemies.

This all sounds pretty cool, but unfortunately Vesper of Radius is overshadowed by so many other Warlock Exotics that it’s very hard to see a situation where Vesper or Radius is your best chestpiece. Skip it unless you are a collector.

Xur’s roll this week comes with 63 total stats.
