PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Allegheny County Health Department announced Thursday that they will begin administering the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at Castle Shannon’s clinic starting next week.

The county health department received four trays of the vaccination for the first injections, and although it is a two-shot series, the second shot can be given in a period of 21 to 42 days.
Limited first-dose appointments are available at the Castle Shannon site for people 65 and older and on the week of March 1 only.

Applications to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine at Castle Shannon VFD Banquet Hall open today at 9:00 am on the county website.
Walk-ups or on-site registration are not allowed and anyone who does not meet the criteria will be rejected.
