The first lady appeared on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and told Clarkson to look to the future. The singer filed for divorce with Blackstock in June after seven years of marriage.
“I want to tell you, Kelly, this is what I would say to you if I were your mother,” says Biden. ‘You know, my mom used to say to me,’ It’s going to look better tomorrow. And if you can take one day at a time, it gets better. ”
Before Biden married President Joe Biden in 1977, she was married to Bill Stevenson for five years. They divorced in 1975. She told Clarkson that she is grateful that her own divorce happened because she met Biden.
‘I look back on it now and I think, you know, if I hadn’t been divorced, I would never have met Joe. I wouldn’t have the beautiful family I have now, ”she said.
So I really think things happen for the best. I think Kelly, over time, I don’t know how long it has been for you [since the separation], but I think you will heal over time. You will be surprised, and I can’t wait for that day to come for you. You’re going to call me and you’re going to say, “Hey, Jill, you were right!” ‘
