Spotify allows you to filter your favorite songs by mood and genre

Spotify makes it easier to analyze your favorite songs. The company today introduced a new feature that allows users to filter their favorite songs by genre and mood. This way, you can enjoy what you like more without compromising the atmosphere. For example, I have songs that would be fun in the club, as well as folk songs for relaxation, both of which are under the umbrella of my beloved songs. With this new feature, I can decide what mood I’m in and then listen.

To access the filters, you must have at least 30 loved songs. You can then go to your library, tap to loved songs and select a filter that appears at the top. You can remove that filter at any time and replace a new one. These filters will change if you like new songs, Spotify says. For now, they will only be rolled out to English-speaking markets, including the US, Canada and the UK.

Spotify has made no secret of its aim to be the app for every kind of audio need, including music and podcasts. While this feature is minor, it’s the kind of update that makes a product more useful for day-to-day use and can keep people coming back to the app to like songs, which is what Spotify wants.
