The third “Spider-Man” movie has its official title: and it is not “Phone Home”, “Home-Wrecker” or “Home Slice”.
The real title for the latest installment in the superhero franchise is “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” star Tom Holland revealed on social media Wednesday morning. Holland and his co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon appear in a 30-second clip, which begins with Holland leaving director Jon Watts’ office and complaining that they have been given a false title for the film.
“He has given us another false name … I just don’t understand why he keeps doing this,” asks Holland.
‘You do not understand? I feel like it’s pretty clear. You’re spoiling things, ” Batalon jokes, teasing the star’s reputation for sharing details of the superhero films before they are public knowledge.
‘I don’t spoil anything. Name me one thing that I’ve really spoiled, ‘Holland shoots back, as Zendaya replies,’ The last movie title. ‘
The camera then zooms in on a white board with a number of possible titles, with “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in the middle.
The film Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios will hit theaters on December 17, 2021.
On Tuesday afternoon, Holland and his “Spider-Man 3” co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon each posted never-before-seen stills from the upcoming film – and announced three different titles.
The Netherlands read ‘Phone Home’, referring to the 1982 film ‘ET’, Zendaya’s was ‘Home Slice’ and Batalon was entitled ‘Home-Wrecker’. Since the first two Spider-Man movie titles featured the word ‘Home’, it seems the actors found the most ridiculous options regarding the word and run with it. Fans soon discovered they were being served because of the cast’s dry captions.
So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title. I can’t wait much for you to see what we’ve done, ”wrote Holland.
“We are so excited to share the TITLE of our new movie !!” Batalon said, adding a lot of emojis. “Swipe right for the big reveal !!”
“So excited to announce the new Spider-Man title,” Zendaya wrote. “So proud of this … FOS is back!”
