‘Danger!’ fans call on Mike Richards to become a full-time host: ‘the next best thing’

Has “Danger!” found a new host?

Following Alex Trebek’s death in November, famed contestant Ken Jennings took over as guest host for a six-week period. As Jennings’ time as a presenter drew to a close, a new interim host took the floor in the form of the show’s executive producer, Mike Richards.

Appearing on the hit game show, the 45-year-old quickly captured the hearts of “Jeopardy!” fans with his charming personality, warm voice and impeccable charisma – which ultimately led to a flood of online support, with many clamoring for Richards to be the permanent host of the show.

“Mike Richards is A + so far. Super tasty, just the right amount of jokes, without trying to be in the spotlight,” a Twitter user wrote“Love him!”

“I didn’t know I was going to do it until three days before, so I didn’t prepare myself to host like I know other guest hosts are,” Richards stated in the interview. “So there was just a lot to work out.”

“Besides, I only owned one suit, so there was a bit of scrambling,” the host recalled humorously. “It was a lot of fun; humiliation doesn’t begin to describe the feeling. It hit me like a lot of rocks when Johnny Gilbert announced my name. Of course that’s the last thing you hear when you walk away. … and it was. Overwhelming. in the moment. “

Richards, who has also served as an executive producer for “The Price is Right” and “Let’s Make a Deal,” is a veteran of the game show industry. In addition to his production credits, Richards has hosted game shows such as GSN’s “The Pyramid” and “Divided”.
