Actor and singer Ricardo Crespo, who was part of the Garibaldi group, has first responded to allegations of sexual abuse of his 14-year-old daughter for which he is imprisoned.
According to a publication by “People in Spanish,” the 45-year-old artist, who is being charged with an aggravated sexual crime and is still in protective custody in Mexico, said in a statement released on the television show “De primera mano” that he does not know the reasons why his ex-wife and mother of his daughter Valentina accuse him of these crimes.
He said that when he was arrested he was surprised, paralyzed and astonished by the “monstrous” things that were attributed to him and that he had not commented on it until he heard what happened.
“That is also known [fue] my ex-wife, on behalf of my beloved daughter, who denounced these alleged and monstrous acts, and those which are certainly seen by me and anyone else, father or mother, family and the public opinion with dumbness, indignation because they the intimate fibers of every human being, ”the statement read.
“I have come to the conclusion as popular wisdom expresses and says well, the one who gives silence, but now that I put the current situation into perspective, I come to the conclusion and accept the moment of not being silent and much less silent and without fighting so that my truth may also be made known and made public, ”the text adds.
Amid this scandal, the members of the Caballeros Cantan band in which Crespo shares the stage with Manuel Landeta, Chao, Agustín Arana and Lisardo Guarinos said they trust the authorities to find the truth.
“We are and will always respect the rights and integrity of women. It is the authorities we trust who determine their situation based on a fair investigation. As we are an event totally alien to our artistic project, we just need to express our respect, affection and admiration for each of the women, ”they said in a statement.
The Mexico City prosecutor’s office said the actor in productions such as The Dragon, Control Z and Súbete a mi moto is accused of inducing his underage daughter to engage in sexual acts and witness pornographic content over several years. His ex-partner filed the complaint last December and the actor was arrested on February 15.

Valentina Crespo, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by her father, thanked all the support through her Instagram account and asked for respect in the situation.
The young woman used her Instagram account to thank the support and share that she is going through an emotional recovery process. “Thank you for all the support and messages from my father on this topic, I ask for caution and respect on this topic, it’s a delicate topic. I had a hard time talking about this and I am still recovering emotionally, she wrote.
Valentina Crespo added in her post the hashtags “No more sexual abuse”, “You’re not alone” and “Don’t shut up anymore.”
