The State Department says the Dominican authorities are devoting all their efforts to the return of abducted people to Haiti

Santo Domingo, RD.

The Dominican Republic’s State Department said it followed the kidnapping of two Dominican civilians in neighboring Haiti while they were working on a film production.

“From the State Department, we are closely following the authorities’ investigations into the so far confirmed alleged kidnapping of two Dominican nationals in the Republic of Haiti,” said a brief statement from the ministry.

The ministry assured that the Dominican authorities are devoting all their efforts to the safe return of civilians and their equipment. “The information in this regard will be made public as soon as it is obtained,” they said.

A team of film technicians and producers was intercepted and attacked by a heavily armed group in Haiti. As a result, after the attack, two film technicians and a Haitian interpreter were kidnapped and a truck that occupied some of the company’s work teams was stolen.

The kidnapped technicians are two brothers of Dominican nationality identified as Michael Enrique Campusano Feliz and Antonio Gerer Campusano Feliz.

The film company “Mira Vista Film”, for which the technicians work, was contracted out by a Haitian company to work on the lighting and camera management of a French production filming in the neighboring country.
