The spectacular yet chilling knockout of Mexican Oscar Valdez to take the super featherweight world title from fellow countryman Miguel Berchelt has rocked the boxing world, but no one has had a better reaction than the undisputed lightweight monarch Teófimo López.
Watching the fight in the Top Rank “bubble” at the MGM Grand hotel casino in Las Vegas, the stellar New York hunter of Honduran blood couldn’t believe Valdez’s fulminating blow and what he did was run at full speed from the section where it was.

Teófimo López took off his face mask – which he shouldn’t have done – and then went to the ring to congratulate the new champion in detail.
In addition to the good relationship they have, Teofimo knows how to recognize when someone delivers a memorable blow.
I RESPECT! The real recognizes the real!

Later, as Valdez enjoyed his big night in the locker room of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, young Puerto Rican star Xander Zayas seemed to congratulate him.
“Let’s go to Puerto Rico,” said the Mexican between laughs. (eldiariodenia)
