Japanese video game developer and publisher Arika has announced it’s coming out Fight EX Layer: Another Dash on the Nintendo Switch in 2021.
The original version of this title was first released on the PlayStation 4 in 2018 and has since been ported to multiple other devices. It is considered a spiritual sequel to Battle layer (1998) as well as the Street Fighter EX series (1996).
Arika says Another Dash will be “different” from the existing Fighting EX Layer release. Characters have been modified, moves revised and new combat systems introduced. This also includes different grid code.
Here’s an explanation, courtesy of Gematsu:
Fight EX Layer: Another Dash uses backstep interrupt net code based on delay net code. Since input delay is disguised as variable frames for different frames, in case of extreme delays, the character’s position can be corrected. Some time after its release, Arika hopes to replace the netcode with “The Best of Both Games” netcode, which is currently being tested and based on rollback netcode. “
More information about Fighting EX Layer: Another Dash for Nintendo Switch will be shared April 1.
