Celebrities who shouldn’t have been canceled

I agree with a lot of this, TBH.

Last week, I wrote a post about how people shared examples of celebrities who had received unnecessary backlash or who were (essentially) canceled for no good reason.

People in the comments went on to share their own examples of other celebrities who they didn’t think deserved a cancellation / backlash. Here’s who came up with them:

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think she deserved the mess she got and still gets. All she did was speak up. I understand they write it [of Grey’s Anatomy] in the process and things went a bit in the wrong direction, but I love that she stood up for her beliefs. “

“In 2016, everyone scolded her for Kim Kardashian making a custom phone call. The poor girl had to go through so much just because Kanye interrupted her award. I’ll never forget how many of you actually stood with Kanye and Kim. And on her for no good reason. “Luckily she made a comeback. She deserves everything she has and more.”

When I was younger I didn’t realize how much hate Rebecca Black got. I mean, it’s just a song. And I loved the song by the way. I heard she got death threats. “

“Controversial opinion: Kathy Griffin after Trump’s severed head. Okay, it was too much and certainly more tense than my sense of humor. She’s a comedian though and they push boundaries – sometimes it goes too far. Apologize and Continue. . “

“Every NFL franchise teamed up to keep him out of the league after taking a knee in the national anthem throughout the 2016 season. He didn’t break any laws, even break league rules. He was blacklisted, and the only one. The right he received was a settlement from the NFL, so he wouldn’t sue them. “

“I don’t think Tom Hiddleston deserved the backlash he got for his Golden Globe speech. He just wanted to use his platform to draw attention to UNICEF. The whole white savior thing was way out of proportion, if all he did. Doe talked about his personal experience while working with UNICEF for years and documenting his travels. I think he really wanted to help, and people dragged him around because they didn’t like him talking about himself. “
