The Kanto Celebration event in Pokémon Go continues with the Gen 1 celebrations of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Event.
Not only is there the Kanto Celebration Event timed fact-finding mission and some exclusive ones field research tasks complete for you, but some of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Event Collecting Challenges will also take place during the event.
These Collection Challenges are only available to players who have purchased a ticket to the event, but once you’ve done so, you have until 7:59 PM (local time) Sunday, February 28 to complete them.

Kanto Celebration field research duties and rewards in Pokémon Go explained
You can collect some exclusive field research tasks for the Kanto Celebration currently running in Pokémon Go. These tasks are collected by spinning PokéStops and can be completed once the event has ended.
Here are Kanto Celebration’s field research duties and their rewards:
- Transfer 6 Pokémon reward – Magikarp encounter
- Earn 3 hearts with your buddy reward -Clefairy or Jigglypuff encounter
- Catch 3 Pokémon reward – meeting with Magnemite, Doduo or Diglett
- Win a robbery reward – Snorlax encounter
- Defeat 2 Team GO Rocket Grunts reward – Venonat encounter
- Hatch an egg reward – Omanyte meeting

Ongoing collection challenges during the Pokémon Go Kanto celebration event explained
Some of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Collection Challenges will be performed in Pokémon Go during the Kanto Celebration event. You will have until Sunday 28 February at 7:59 PM to complete these challenges.
It is important to note that these collection challenges are only available if you have purchased a ticket for the event.

The Kanto Celebration event in Pokémon Go has a number of bonuses you can take advantage of – most notably, the ability to teach certain Pokémon their exclusive Community Day attack.
If you develop an Ivysaur, Charmeleon, Wartortle, Pichu, Eevee, or Dragonair during the event, the resulting evolution will automatically learn its special Community Day attack. Check out our special Community Day guide to learn more about these attacks.
Gen 1 Pokémon will also dominate the raids at the Kanto Celebration, with Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo all appearing in five-star raids throughout the event.
Meanwhile, Pokémon from the Kanto region will appear in the wild more often, which is great for completing those Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Collection Challenges as well as the Kanto Pokédex itself.
The Pokémon that are more common are:

- Bulbasaur
- Charmander
- Squirtle
- Weedle
- Pikachu
- Geodude
- Clefairy
- Psyduck
- Slowpoke

If the Gen 1 Pokémon you’re looking for doesn’t exist organically in the wild, you may have better luck attracting it with frankincense. The following Gen 1 Pokémon can all be found with incense during the Kanto celebration:

- Seal
- Machop
- Krabby
- To carry out
- Horsea

Finally, Gen 1 Pokémon, along with some baby Pokémon, will hatch from 5km eggs. These Pokémon include:

The festive season has arrived! Kanto Celebration dates and times in Pokémon Go explained
The Kanto Celebration in Pokémon Go is a limited-time event that continues the celebrations of Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto. Unlike the previous event, all Kanto Celebrations features are available to any Pokémon Go player.
The Kanto Celebration event and its timed fact-finding mission will run from Sunday, February 21 at 10 am (local time) to Saturday, February 27 at 8 pm (local time)
However, the Collection Challenges that continue from Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto will be available until Sunday, February 28 at 7:59 PM, so you have plenty of time to complete the challenges if you wish.

The Kanto Celebration Event timed research mission consists of four steps, each of which contains three individual challenges and you will be rewarded for every challenge and step you complete. Since this is a timed research mission, it will disappear once the quest line is complete, so you must complete it before the event ends if you want to earn all the rewards.
