Lines are forming at PNC Arena, where nearly 1,500 COVID vaccines will be distributed :: WRAL.com

– We’ve seen some really encouraging COVID-19 numbers in our state recently – and that’s a trend we all want to see continue.

Vaccinations are a critical part of those positive statistics.

So let’s catch up on some of the weekend vaccination clinics taking place today.

Nearly 1,500 people are expected to receive a vaccine Saturday at PNC Arena at an appointment-only drive-thru clinic.

This will be the second mass vaccination event at PNC this week.

Thousands of people already took their photos on Wednesday, but Thursday’s event was canceled due to winter weather.

With today’s clinic, state leaders say more than 4,300 people will have received the doses in the arena.

Indoor clinics on Saturday

Residents of Wake County also have the chance to get their photos taken at two indoor clinics on Saturday.

More than 500 people will receive the dose at Wake County Public Health Center.

And another 700 people will get it in the Wake County Commons Building.

The clinics are by appointment only.
