Saturday Night Live scoffs at Ted Cruz’s trip to Cancun and others who had to apologize

The NBC variety show opened with Britney Spears, played by Chloe Fineman, with a show called “Oops … You Did It Again,” which provided a platform for people to apologize for things they had done wrong.

This included senators, governors and former “Star Wars” stars.

“You all know me from my upbeat Instagram videos and the word ‘conservatorship’,” said Fineman’s Spears.

The first guest was Senator Ted Cruz from Texas, played by Aidy Bryant, dressed as if he had just returned from a tropical vacation, along with a gigantic suitcase. Cruz traveled to Cancún, Mexico on Wednesday while Texas was in the midst of a severe winter storm.

“Hola, everyone,” said Cruz of Bryant. ‘I’m not brown. I just cried myself red about my fellow Texans. ‘

Fineman’s Spears noted that Texas was going through a rough patch right now and that Cruz “ literally left it and flew to Cancun. ”

“And now I’m in a little bit of hot water, which I was told is something that no one in Texas has,” said Bryant’s Cruz.

Fineman’s Spears asked if Cruz would apologize.

“I really regret my actions over the past few days,” said Bryant’s Cruz. “We usually fly United.”

The next guest was New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, played by Pete Davidson.

“Governor, do you know why you’re here today?” Fineman’s Spears asked.

“Is it because indoor dining is back in New York ?!” Said Cuomo of Davidson before he took a hit. “Okay, it’s because of the things in the nursing home.”
The last guest was Gina Carano, played by Cecily Strong. Carano was fired from the Disney + hit series “The Mandalorian” after offensive social media posts.

‘I haven’t done anything wrong. No one can even explain what I did wrong. Explain it, ”said Strong’s Carano.

Spears went on to explain that on social media Carano compared Nazi Germany to the current political landscape.

‘Okay, congratulations. You explained it, ”said Carano from Strong.

Bryant’s Cruz then tried to relate to the situation.

“Don’t associate yourself with me,” Carano from Strong said to Cruz of Byrant. “I am strong and you are a pile of soup. I am first class and you are a coach.”

Fineman’s Spears then had had enough, so she ended the show by saying a little prayer that we should all forgive each other.

“So all blessings,” she said. And live … from New York! It’s Saturday night! ‘
