Two Florida women dressed up as older women in an effort to get the COVID-19 vaccine Wednesday, multiple outlets report.
The two women wore disguises consisting of hats, gloves, and glasses to appear over 65, according to the current Florida vaccine age, according to The Washington Post.
Their plot backfired when employees of the vaccine distribution clinic noticed that the dates of birth on their licenses did not match the information they had provided. The women aged 44 and 34 were subsequently arrested by the authorities.
Body cameras of an Orange County deputy sheriff showed that the women were being blamed for their efforts.
“You stole a vaccine from someone who needs it more than you,” an officer heard in the footage shared on Twitter by WSVN News.

The women were given a violation warning and said they were being arrested if they tried to return.
“You have to wait your turn,” can be heard in the video. “You’re lucky you won’t be arrested now.”
Despite being detained, the women’s ruse seemed to have worked before, as both had cards from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to verify they had received their first vaccine doses, the Post reports.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to The Hill’s request for comment.
