The man falsely confesses to a murder to get the police to plow his way

A Ukrainian man confessed to a fake murder – in a bizarre trick to get snow off his road, authorities said.

The man, who was not publicly named by name, called police on Saturday night to say he stabbed his mother’s boyfriend to death, Agence France-Presse reported.

But he also immediately “warned” police to come with a snowplow, saying it would otherwise be impossible to get to his home, Yuliya Kovtun, a police spokesman, said Monday.

But officers were able to reach the house with just an SUV – and found the “victim” there unharmed, Kovtun said.

Meanwhile, the “murderer” immediately confessed to inventing the murder, the police spokesman said.

He apparently came up with the plan after not being satisfied “with the quality of the clearing” on his way through city workers earlier Saturday, Kovtun said.

The man, from the village of Grybova Rudnya, is now facing a fine of up to 119 hryvnias, or about $ 4, for making a false complaint.

The incident came when record snow fell on Ukraine in recent days, with about 50 centimeters covering much of the country.
